August 31- September 4

Week Two!! 

We have made it two weeks and school is finally beginning to feel real I think. We got right to work and have been already reviewing and learning a lot of new content. 

Weekly Topics: 

Reading: 

identifying characters and their character traits, using language and context clues to determine the location and time period of a story, and identifying the plot of a story. 

Spelling: 

Our FIRST spelling test will be FRIDAY, September 3. We will be beginning new words next week

Language: 

Declarative sentences: statements that when read end on a low note
Interoggative sentences: questions that when read end with a higher note
Exclamatory sentences: statements that when read sound excited or alerted
Imperative sentences: commands that when read are prompt and express the appropriate emotion

Math: 

Reading, writing, and rounding numbers up to the hundred thousands place. Expressing numbers in Base ten model, standard form, expanded form, and word form

Science: 

The Water Cycle- Things to know: evaporation, condensation, transpiration, precipitation, run-off, the sun provides energy

9/11 PTA bike rodeo
